Quilts

Originally sixteen quilts were displayed on the wall of the Libraries as part of a permanent exhibit. The Bower-Suhrheinrich library was opened in 1986 and Rowland and Associates of Indianapolis was hired as the interior decorators. They "decided to use Amish quilts in decorating the library to represent the strong Amish influcence in the state" [cite]. Not much is known about who created the quilts or when they were made. All use traditional Amish colors and designs.

Most of the quilts are located on the 1st and 3rd floors. Click on the thumbnail image to see full-sized images.
