University Libraries' rapidly growing collection of musical audio recordings on compact discs and long playing discs, plus musical performances on DVD and VHS are available in the Music Listening Library located on the fourth floor of the Clifford Library. The Listening Library provides state of the art listening equipment for its non-circulating collection. The primary mission of the Listening Library is to support the instructional needs of the students and faculty of the Deparment of Music.
The facility and its resources are also available to the entire campus community. More information regarding the Music Listening Library's services and resources is provided below.
- A non-circulating collection of over 1,200 compact discs, 4,600 long-playing records, and numerous videos and DVDs of musical performances (i.e., operas and piano recitals)
- Eight individual listening carrels
- Two group listening rooms
- Compact disc players, audiocassette decks, turntables and amplifiers
- Multimedia room with VHS and DVD player
- Open 71 hours each week
