Browse or search by keyword a database of more than 120,000 educational sites. Advanced search features include keyword searching by title, description, or URL, grade level, and age of link. Some notable features include a Holidays Center which is a good place to get ideas for educational activities for children, a School Administrators Archive, and a World School Directory. - Indiana Will Educate Better

Funded by the National Science Foundation and hosted by Indiana University, this site contains "a collection of classroom lessons to help biology teachers more effectively teach basic concepts in the areas of evolution and the nature of science." Developed and tested by biology teachers during nine years of summer institutes, the lessons are grouped under three topics: Nature of Science, Evolution, and Origin of Life. Lesson plan contents include a synopsis, concepts, materials, time, teaching strategy, procedures, and handouts in .pdf format. Some lessons are still under development. The site also contains a Teaching Units section, although only one unit, on Human Evolution, is currently available. Additional resources include papers and articles by ENSI (Evolution and the Nature of Science Institutes) participants and a modest collection of annotated links. - MERLOT
MERLOT stands for Multimedia Educational Resource For Learning and Online Teaching. It is a digital online library of lesson plans and ideas in the arts, business, education, the humanities, science and technology, and social studies. Membership is required to download or upload plans, but it is free. - Teachers Helping Teachers
This is a non-profit site created by teachers and for teachers. It consists mostly of well organized lesson plans, but it does have sections on stress reducers and poetry.

This website focuses on 24 indicators of children's well-being that are gathered by representatives of many federal agencies and private experts. Demographic data on childcare; family, health and educational experiences; children's behavior; and the child's social environment is easily accessible. The US Department of Education's National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) has recently placed online the 1999 edition of the well regarded Condition of Education. This compendium of 60 indicators selected by education studies professionals and based on data from various NCES studies describes the "current status and recent progress of education in the United States." The indicators are arranged in five categories: Learner Outcomes;Quality of Education Environments (Elementary/Secondary); Quality of Education Environments (Postsecondary); Social Support for Education; and Educational Participation and Progress. Users may download the publication in its entirety or by section in .pdf format. Two sets of supplemental tables, totalling over 100 pages, are also available. - Campus Crime
