Bricking the Walkway
Lots of work on the plaza since the last post. Concrete has been poured and smoothed. Bolts for the new lighting have been drilled into the cement. This picture was taken looking towards Walnut.

Some walkways are getting narrower as work progresses.

The workers lay the bricks in a X design. This picture was taken from the Oval looking north.
Putting in a New Drive
While this is not really library related, some of the construction work evolving from the Ridgway University Center is a new driveway between Hale and Hughes Halls. Yesterday, crews surveyed the area.
Apparently, the sand volleyball court and the basketball court will be causalities of this effort.
The driveway will basically loop around Hale Hall.BUT, students will have a shorter walk when unloading their cars come August.
